Embracing Wholeness

Wholeness and Completeness

In our daily lives, it often seems like everything is separate and disconnected. However, when we look closer, we can see that everything is part of a greater whole. This is the essence of wholeness and completeness.

The Illusory Reality

In our apparent or illusory reality, everything just is. Through language, humans have named, categorized, and tried to reduce everything to its smallest parts. We've separated skin from muscle and bones by describing their functions, mistaking those descriptions for their essence. Saying there's a body is yet another issue of the same kind. The body relies on the sun, air, water, social connection, and more for survival, just as it relies on the heart, lungs, and brain for living. I apologize for using these terms that inherently create seperation where there is none, but it's impossible to discuss without them.

My Personal Journey

My journey to understanding this wholeness has been long and winding. I sought answers in every available aspect, reading all the books, watching all the videos, meditating for 15 years, and practicing mindfulness every day—all in an effort to free myself from suffering and anxiety. None of it brought relief.

About four months ago, I went through a major life situation that led me to surrender to "God/The Universe/What is" and open up to whatever would follow as what would be. Since then, it has felt like floating in a lazy river. Thoughts come and go like people on rafts, but I remain relaxed and seemingly unaffected by their arising. There is a deep sense of relaxation and simply going with the flow. Tomorrow is no problem and yesterday might as well not have happened.

Being Present

Just stopping and smelling the roses is a way to be available to what is. This practice has brought a profound sense of peace and understanding to my life. By appreciating the moment and letting go of the need to categorize and control, we can experience the wholeness and completeness that is always present.
